AJK Electricity Department (Commercial Wing)
The Directorate General (Commercial) is responsible for developing and administering the policies, procedures and practices of AJKED’s commercial functions i.e. dealing with customer accounts, customer billing, commercial systems operation and customer assistance. Directorate General (Commercial) consists of two main sub-ordinate Directorates i.e. Directorate (Commercial) Muzaffarabad and Directorate (Commercial) Mirpur. Directorate (Commercial) is further assisted by the Revenue Offices located at divisional headquarters.
Earlier, Directorate (Commercial) had transformed its manual billing system into a computerized billing system in 2005-2012. With this transformation, the sustainability of the department which was at stake at that period of time, was ensured. Now, in collaboration with Power Information Technology Company, the Meter Reading System is being transformed into an automated system, i.e. Mobile Meter Reading System, and it is envisaged that it will ensure the financial sustainability of the department.
